Highland Basketball Tournament

The annual Highland Basketball tournament began January 1. In the first round, Highland Lady Cougars won over Kirksville girls 45-24. Addy Abell had 19 points and Abby Lay had 14. The Canton Lady Tigers beat Macon 64-36. and the Canton Tigers beat the Clark County Indians 66-53 Preston Brewer had 23 points and Kaden Oliver had 13 points and Zach Sparrow had 11 points. The tournament continues this week with the championship games on Saturday, Jan. 6. Girls play at 4 p.m. and the boys championship game begins at 6 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend and enjoy the great local talent.
