ROZELLA K. (ROSE) ST. CLAIR

Rozella K. (Rose) St. Clair, 78, of Canton, Mo., died September 13, 2017 at the Lewis County Nursing Home at Canton.

She was born April 24, 1939 in LaHarpe, Ill., a daughter of Marshal Taylor and Mary Evelyn Wolgemuth Newberry.

She received her general education at Montrose, Iowa. She worked at Shellor Globe in Keokuk, Iowa for many years and later graduated from Culver-Stockton College in Canton and became a social worker for the State of Illinois. She then received more education at Truman State University and became a teacher with mentally disabled children, which she thoroughly enjoyed.

She loved animals of all kinds and for a few years raised horses and dogs. She loved to read and after retiring worked at the Canton Library for several years.

She was the oldest of five children and surviving are, Marsha L. (Marty) Dochterman,Canton, Michael D. Newberry, Quincy, Ill; four sons, Robert J. (Debbie) St. Clair, Canton, Tracy A. St. Clair, Donnellson, Iowa and Scott R. St. Clair, Alexandria, Mo; twelve grandchildren, Bobbie Sue, April Rae, Valaree, Derek, Adryan, Holly, Nicole, Janeen, Meia, Lydia and Kara; twelve great grandchildren, three step sons, one step daughter and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, brother Richard Gene Newberry, sister Mary Katherine (Kathy) Waltz, son Jay D. St. Clair and granddaughter Sarah Rose St. Clair.

Funeral services were held September 18, 2017 at the Davis Funeral Home in Canton, Mo., with Pastor Harry Cooper officiating.Pallbearers: Brian Laws, Steven Dochterman, Chad Brotherton, Derek St. Clair, Richard Brewer and Brad Waldon.

Burial will be in Forest Grove Cemetery in Canton. Memorials be made to the Lewis County Nursing Home. Online condolences may be left at www.davis-fh.com
