F. Jack White Sr., 85, of La Grange, Mo., died December 17, 2017 at Blessing Hosptial in Quincy, Ill.

He was born August 25, 1932 in Hamburg, Iowa, a son of Forde and Lillian Iona Christy White. He married Carolyn Joyce Rosenblatt on May 23, 1964 in Canton, Mo. She passed away May 22, 1993.

Jack was a retired Foreman with Knaphiede Manufacturing. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in La Grange. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. He and his wife operated Whites Variety Store in La Grange for a number of years. Jack served as a Cub Scout Leader and Webloo Leader and was a former traffic court judge and city councilman with the City of La Grange.

Survivors include two sons, Jeff (Debbie) White of Williamstown, Mo., and Jackie White of Payson, Ill; six daughters, Patricia (Will) Clinton of Jacksonville, Ill, Delores Logan of Quincy, Ill, Janet Peoples of Quincy, Ill, Tammy Sue LaFoe of Knox City, Mo, Debbie (Dan) Foust of Keokuk, Iowa and Teresa Ann White of Kokamo, Ind; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; brothers, Kenneth White of Oreg., Bill Casteel of Pollock, Mo., Earl Casteel of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, Dennis Casteel of Ottumwa, Iowa, Richard Casteel of Tehachapi, Calif., and Mike Casteel of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; sisters, Norma Jean Elliot of Libertyville, Iowa and Glenda Fay Dowthart of Fairfield, Iowa and half sister, Carol Selvester of Oregon and several nieces and nephews, special friend Cheryl Kelly of Sheppherd, Mont., and his beloved cat Miracle.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughters, Teresa Lynn White and Donna Marie White, five grandchildren, brother Bob Christy, sisters Louise Carlson and Kathaleen Rubel and half sister, Virginia Worthly.

Graveside services and military honors were held December 22, 2017 at Mark’s Cemetery in La Grange with with Rev. Brian Stone officiating. Visitation was held December 21, 2017 at the Davis Funeral Home in La Grange. Pallbearers: Jeffrey White, Alex White, Jack White, Jeff White, Will Clinton, Erwin Logan.

The family suggests memorials be made to the St. Judes or to the ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals
