Norman Paul Myers, 93 of Lewistown, Missouri died January 13, 2018 at the Lewis County Nursing Home in Canton, Missouri.

The son of Orval Baker and May Levengood Myers was born on March 10, 1924 North of LaBelle, Missouri.

He was united in marriage to Norma Jean Scoggin on November 19, 1944 in Canton, Missouri. She preceded him in death on July 15, 1995.

Norman attended Selton Grade School and Monticello High School. He served in the U.S. Army, Tec 5, Troop E, 5th Calvary from December 5, 1944 to November 17, 1946. He served with the 5th Calvary in Honshu, Japan. He drove all types of vehicles to haul personnel and supplies, day and night. He drove an average of 800 miles per week and made repairs on vehicles. He was a member of Lewis County Memorial Post 578 for 42 years. He farmed all his life, first near Ten Mile and later south of Lewistown in 1954. He retired in 1991 and moved into Lewistown.

He is survived by four children, Barbara J. (Ewing) Key of Williamstown, Mo., Norman Wayne (Rita) Myers of Lewistown, Mo., Diane M. (Terry) Seals of Lewistown, Mo. and Gerald D. Myers of Lewistown, Mo.; thirteen grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, a brother, Cecil S. Myers of Lewistown, Mo.; sisters-in-law, Elsie Doran and Marie Scoggin of Lewistown, Mo., Francis Anderson of Arizona and Mary Scoggin of California; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter, Mary Evelyn Deeder (2011), sister, Mary Eleanor (Jim) Young (1926-1994), three brothers, Delmar F. Myers (1919-1994), Earl Ray Myers (1927-1996) and Donald B. Myers (1918-2014), and a great-granddaughter Tabitha J. Smith and her husband Buddy Jo Smith (2011).

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at 1 p.m.at Arnold’s Funeral Home in Lewistown, Missouri with Rev. Ted Middleton officiating. Visitation was held Jan. 16 from 4 until 7 p.m.at Arnold’s Funeral Home in Lewistown.Pallbearers: Troy Seals, Brett Seals, Jamie Myers, Lyle Seals, David Kent Deeder and Doug Neisen.

Burial will be in the Lewistown Cemetery with graveside military honors by Lewis County Memorial Post 578.
