STANLEY G. LOGSDON

Stanley G. Logsdon, 60, of La Grange, Mo., died April 22, 2015 at his river cabin in La Grange.

He was born November 4, 1954, in Keokuk, Iowa, a son of James E. and Mary E. Hartwig Logsdon. He married Teresa Lynn Barry on October 2, 1982 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Stan and his wife attended church services at Life Tabernacle in Canton, Mo.

Stan was a general contractor and owner of Great River Contractors in Canton, Mo. Though dedicated to his business, family always came first with Stan. Twice a year vacations to exotic places in the winter and the Ozarks during the summer were always well thought out and planned. Temperate days were spent on the river with his family, fishing, boating and skiing. His life was lived with thoughts for his wife and children. Hunting, fishing and barbeques by the river filled his life with quality times. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, beloved by many.

 

He is survived by his wife, Teresa of La Grange, Mo.; his six children: Jeremy (Robyn) Burkhart of Kahoka, Mo., James G. Logsdon, Nate R. Logsdon, and Zachary (Brigetta) Logsdon, all of Canton, Mo., Kristina R. Logsdon, Quincy, IL and Kristal (Jacob) Savoia of Canton, Mo.; his grandchildren: Arizona and Adalyn Logsdon of Canton, Mo., Brooklyn Jobe of Decatur, Mo., Laria Logsdon of Cincinnati, Ohio, Savannah, Zachary Jr. and Lucy Logsdon of Canton, Mo., Kamdyn and Raydon Logsdon of La Grange, Mo. Gavin Allen Savoia, Canton; and two step grandchildren, Megan and Collin Young of Kahoka, Mo.; his mother Mary E. Logsdon of Kahoka, Mo.,Brother Emmett D. Logsdon of Sewanee, Tenn., and three sisters: Sandy Reynolds of Gilson, IL, Pamela (Tom) Ferguson of Peoria, IL and Donna Logsdon of West Point, Iowa and ten nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, James E. Logsdon.

Funeral services were held April 27, 2015 at Life Tabernacle Church in Canton, Mo., with Pastor Paul Kinney officiating.Music was recorded selections played during visitation and lunch, with special selections sung by Faye Pittman and Jennifer Erikson at the funeral. Pallbearers: Jeremy Burkhart, James Logsdon, Zachary Logsdon, Jacob Savoia, Kevin Osbon and James Barnes. Honorary Pallbearers: Bill Cole, Tony Dye, Brad Hoffman, Vaughn Barry, Rex Barry James Herren and Paul Schmitz.

Burial was in Forest Grove Cemetery in Canton.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Blessing Cancer Center.
