RONALD LOGSDON

Ronald Leo Logsdon, 85, of Bushnell IL., formerly of La Grange MO died March 23, 2021 at Carle Foundation Hospital, in Champaign, IL with his family at his side.

Ronald was born January 21, 1936 in St. Patrick, MO. a son of Harry M. and Hilda Elizabeth Ellison Logsdon. On June 29, 1957 Ronald married Vera Fifer at Notre Dame Catholic Church in La Grange MO. She survives.

Ronald graduated from La Grange High School in 1955. After graduation he worked for his brother Jim at Logsdon’s Service Station, then was drafted into the US Army in December of 1958 and served in Germany. After being discharged from the service he returned to work for his brother Jim. Then he became Post Master of La Grange, and also served on the city council. Next, he worked at the gravel pit, before moving to Illinois to become the service technician for his brother Mick at M & B Furniture Company, where remained employed for 49 years until the time of his death. Ronald was member of St. Bernard Catholic Church.

Also surviving are their two sons, Rusty L. Logsdon and Rockie L. Logsdon, both of Bushnell IL, four granddaughters, Sarah Logsdon of Macomb, IL, Alexandrea (Ali) Logsdon of New Mexico, Veronica (Roni) Logsdon of Bushnell IL, and Lilie Logsdon of Clayton IL. Also surviving are a sister Georgia Richter of La Grange MO, two brothers Danny Logsdon and his wife Sharon, Jerry Logsdon and his wife Patty, a sister-in-law Marilyn Logsdon, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Mary Jean Schroeder and her husband Bill, a brother Mickey Logsdon, a brother Jim Logsdon and his wife Dorothy, a sister Patsy Johnston and her husband Darrell, and a brother David Logsdon.

Visitation and prayer service was held at Davis Funeral Home in La Grange MO on March 29 followed by graveside services, military honors and burial in Mark’s Cemetery in La Grange MO with Fr. Rob Fields officiating. Pallbearers: Tim Brown, Joe Schroeder, Pat Logsdon, Preston Johnston, Kelly Logsdon and Todd Logsdon. A Celebration of Ronald’s life will be held in Bushnell IL at the VFW on May 1, 2021 at 4:00 p.m.
