Canton Library Summer Reading Wrapped Up

August 12, 2021

The Canton Public Library wrapped up its 2021 Summer Reading Program on July 30 with an evening of prizes, games, and ice cream sundaes. The Summer Reading Program brought 8 weeks of fun and learning to the community with weekly story times and other programs including beekeeping, robot coding mice, wood carving, homemade dog treats and therapy dogs, slime making, movie nights, and more. Adults enjoyed programs about Australia, kombucha and The Mark Twain Zephyr. The library challenged the community to read 45,000 minutes during the program. This goal was reached and exceeded, with readers achieving 55,739 minutes. Top readers and other super achievers were eligible for prizes given away at the closing party.
