Edwin Maurice "Butch" Begley, 62, of Palmyra, Mo., died May 1, 2015.

Edwin was born Feb. 6, 1953 in Hannibal, Mo., to Maurice and LouElla Doscher Begley.

Edwin married Wilda Sue Meyers on Aug. 3, 1972. He later married Sandra Kay Meyer on Nov. 16, 1979. She survives of the home.

He was a 1972 graduate of Hannibal High School. He worked for many years as a welder and fabricator at Port Industries in Palmyra, Mo. When he was younger, he was active with 4-H and the F.F.A. He was currently a member of the N.R.A., Bootkickers, and volunteered with the Palmyra Food Pantry and the Mark Twain Lake Disability Deer Hunt. Butch enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, and especially spending time with his family. He was baptized and confirmed at the Zion Lutheran Church in Palmyra. He was currently a member of the Mt.Vernon United Methodist Church and formerly attended the First Baptist Church of Ewing, Mo.

Survivors also include:children: Justin (Tracey) Begley, Princeton, Mo; Michelle (Omar) Munoz, Byron, IL; Billy (Jennifer) Meyers, Mendon, IL; Christy (Will) Clay, Palmyra; grandchildren: Shayanne, Shawnee, Shaylyn and Dakoda Begley; Marissa and Elina Munoz ; Alex and Jordan Meyer; Travis, Josh, Malique (Bullfrog), Kai (Bell) Clay; mother and step-father, LouElla (Walter) Hunt of Hannibal; siblings, Steve (Karen) Begley of Palmyra; Karen (Jeff) Burditt of Hannibal; Debbie Perry of Palmyra; Donnie (Kim) Hunt of Hannibal; Simon (Janet) Begley of Hannibal; Nancy (Jason) Lovercheck of Hannibal; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Funeral services were held May 5, 2015 at the Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra. Rev. Mark McPike officiated. Honorary Bearers were Mr. Begley's grandchildren
