Betty Fifer

This was a good week for me. The test I had to take Tuesday for something that was growing beside my windpipe a month ago was gone in this test, so my prayers were answered, but the doctor will still be checking every little while. We went to the fish fry Saturday evening held at the Lewistown Park to raise  money for the Lewistown cemetery. Very good food, nice evening to be out doors, no dishes, ha ha.

There is going to be a fish fry at the Durham community center on June 25, looking forward to that one.

It looked like the yard sales were well attended and many to choose from. I would have had a ball a few years ago attending, but now I find that after 65 years of marriage I don’t need any more things until I get rid of some I already have collected.

By the time you read this i hope we got through the heat that they are saying is coming. Thank goodness for air conditioning. I remember back, sleeping on the upper porch of our old family house at Dover. It was built in 1860 and real thick brick walls that stayed cool during the day but look out as the evening arrived. But we made it through that, we didn’t know any different at that time of our lives.
