The adopt a child giveaway was held December 16. The annual Adopt a Child program had great success this year, once again thanks to the many volunteers, organizations, churches, individuals and businesses, along with NECAC. Stephanie Chancellor, long time organizer and volunteer of the program said that this year there was a total of 172 children, ranging in age from birth to 15 years old, in 70 families. This is about the same as previous years.

“We partnered with American family insurance to provide many with some basic household supplies this year as well!! American family worked with local banks to collect or purchase these supplies. This is helpful during this time of year, especially this year with the price increases on many daily necessities.” Chancellor said. We had plenty of donors from businesses, community organizations, churches, school groups and individual people/families to provide for all children who needed adopted.

Canton Kiwanis also provided gift cards for some of the local families. Town and Country Bank

Midwest in LaGrange also collected many donations of toys, coats and other items. There were several local businesses that donated other items necessary to the success of the program.

Once again, a successful year in pulling together as a community to ease the burden to families, as well as to make sure all children have a reason to smile on Christmas morning. All the donations and volunteers are very much appreciated.
