GARY THOMSON

Gary Thomson, 54, of Hannibal, Mo., died April 24, 2015 at the University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics in Columbia, Missouri.??He was born April 3, 1961 in Kirksville, Missouri, the son of Larry and Mary Fern Murphy Thomson. In 1993 he was united in marriage to Robin Justice. To this union Tyler and Whitney were born. They later divorced. ??Gary attended school in Canton, Missouri until his senior year, then moved to Kirksville and graduated from Kirksville High School in 1979. He went on to attend college at Northeast Missouri State University and graduated in 1985 and was in the Phi Kappa Theta fraternity. ??He was currently employed by Harley Davidson in Kansas City, Missouri. Before that he was employed at Henniges, Methode, and Watlow. He was also a member of the American Society for Quality.??Gary loved the outdoors and spending time on the family farm hunting, fishing, looking for arrowheads, and mushroom hunting. ??He is survived by his father, Larry Thomson and his wife Sharon, of Williamstown, MO; his son, Tyler Thomson and his wife Alisha and their children, Willow and Aaron of Kahoka; his daughter, Whitney Thomson, a college student at Cedar Rapids, Iowa; one sister, Janet Thomson Calandro and her husband Dan, and their children Andrew and Joe of Indianapolis, Indiana; his grandmother, Dorothy Suter Thomson of Kahoka, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. ??He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Thomson; his grandfather, Walter Thomson; his grandparents, Norval and Mary Murphy, and two uncles Bill Murphy and Robert Murphy. ???Funeral services were held April 28, 2015 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Kahoka. Burial will be in the Fairmont Cemetery.
