Charges Filed

Lewis County Assistant Prosecutor Chelsea Hoffman filed felony charges and sought formal warrants for Wesley R. Elledge and Ryan M. Currie who were involved in the pursuit and manhunt that ended on September 10, 2020. During the course of the investigation methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia was located inside the wrecked Chevy Camaro.

Elledge, age 32, of Quincy, Illinois was charged with one account of Resisting Arrest by Fleeing - Creating a Substantial Risk of Serious Injury/Death to Any Person, a class E felony, and one count Delivery of Controlled Substance, (Methamphetamine), a class C felony.

Elledge has numerous prior convictions in the state of Illinois for vehicle theft, DUI/Drugs, possession of methamphetamine, burglary and other offenses. He has also served multiple sentences in the Illinois Department of Corrections.

He remains lodged in the Lewis County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash only bond.

Currie, age 31, of Quincy, Illinois was charged with one count of Resisting Arrest for a felony, a class E felony, and Delivery of Controlled Substance, methamphetamine, a class C felony.

Mr. Currie has prior convictions for delivery of methamphetamine, drug possession, aggravated battery and other offenses. He has also served previous stints in the Illinois Department of Corrections.

He remains lodged in the Lewis County in lieu of $35,000 cash only bond.

The MSHP, Canton Police Department, Marion County Sheriff's Department and numerous Lewis County residents assisted with this investigation.
