JAMES KENDRICK

James R. Kendrick Peacefully departed this Earth February 7, 2021 He was born August 8, 1929 to W.H. and Oneta J. Kendrick in LaBelle, Missouri.

Jim grew up in LaBelle, MO where he attended grades one through twelve. Jim attended Gem City Business College in Quincy, IL and graduated from Truman State University in Kirksville, MO receiving a BS degree in Accounting. Later Jim earned a Certified Public Accounting certificate.

Jim served in the Army in 1951 and 1952. Most of this time was spent in Germany.

Jim married Katherine Spicknall on February 14, 1965 in LaBelle, MO. Shortly thereafter the family, Jim, Katherine, Debra and Mark moved to Florissant, MO. They joined John Knox Presbyterian Church in Florissant.

Jim’s education led him to employment with a major certified public accounting firm. He later worked in accounting and financial management positions with Bi-State Development Agency and then United Van Lines, a worldwide moving company.

In addition to his wife Katherine and his entire family whom he loved, he also loved bowling, golf and baseball, especially the St. Louis Cardinals.

Jim is survived by his step-children, Debra (Scott) Wright of Venice, FL and Mark (Elaine) Spicknall of Canal Winchester, OH. He was the step grandfather of Debra’s son Charlie (Anna) Hendrickson and their son William of Columbus, OH. Also surviving is a sister Jane Ann Martin, brother-in-law James F. Martin of Minneapolis, MN and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, mother and Katherine Kendrick, his beloved wife of forty-five years.
