CAROLYN GAUS

Carolyn Christine Gaus, 14 years, 8 months, and 15 days of Canton, Missouri passed away Saturday, August 28, 2021 at her home in Canton.

The daughter of Christopher Gaus and Kristy Wear was born on December 13, 2006 at Quincy, Illinois.

Carolyn was a student at Canton R-V School.  She liked to make arts and crafts, playing x-box, fishing, hunting for mushrooms, arrow heads and geodes.   She was always a good and loyal friend.

She is survived by her parents, Kristy Wear (Mike Edwards) of Canton, Mo. and Christopher (Lindsay) Gaus of Hamilton, Ill.; two brothers, James Silman of Quincy, Ill., and Caleb Gaus of Hamilton, Ill.; maternal grandparents, Jenice Ott of Keokuk, Ia., and Elmer Ott of Canton, Mo.; paternal grandparents, Debra Sparks of Callao, Ill., and Phillip Gaus of Kahoka, Mo.; step-grandparents, Jim (Mary) Thompson of Hamilton, Ill.; maternal great-grandparents, John (Mary) Reimers of Branson, Mo., and Juanita (Jim) Shelton of Quincy, Ill.; paternal great-grandparents, Patrick (Patsy) Whitley of Polo, Mo., Wiley (Tracy) Sparks of Emmerson, Mo., and Judith (Meb) Wollbrink of Quincy, Ill.; uncle Joe Reimers, and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Nancy Gaus; maternal great-grandparents, Lee and Betty Ott and paternal great-grandfather, Robert Gaus; and several aunts and uncles.

A memorial visitation will be held Friday, September 3, 2021 from 11 AM until 1PM at the First Baptist Church of Canton, Missouri. Honorary pallbearers: Trinity, Amanda, Brooklyn, Halia, Kessler, Kaitlyn, Tessa and Lillian.

Inurnment will be in the Bluff Springs Cemetery at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the family to assist with expenses.
