Canton Library Gueast Artist for October

The Canton Public Library welcomes local artist, Linda Gower, as Guest Artist for the month of October. Her artwork will be on display at the library throughout the month of October. All are invited to a reception in her honor on Thursday, October 7 at 5:30 PM at the Canton Public Library. The event is hosted by the Canton Fine Arts Council. Linda will be present to discuss her artwork and answer questions. Gower was born and raised in Lewis County. She became interested in visual art while in her thirties, and then took classes and workshops, attended Hannibal-LaGrange University and Culver-Stockton College. She has won several local competitions and has exhibited and displayed her works.

Linda has worked in many mediums including oils, acrylics, watercolors, and printmaking. She particularly enjoys painting outdoors, known as plein air painting, and takes inspiration from our local landscapes. She has recently been featured as guest artist at the Alliance Art Gallery in Hannibal, MO.
The library is located at 403 Lewis St. in Canton, MO and is open Tuesday through Friday 9 AM - 6 PM and Saturday 10 AM - 2 PM.
