VIOLA LOUISE MAJORS

Viola Louise Majors, 81, of Quincy, Ill., died on October 4, 2021 in her home.
She was born on December 26, 1939 in LaGrange, Mo., to Katherine and Cecil Weathers Sr. She married Floyd “Butter” Majors Sr. on November 22, 1958 who preceded her in death on February 19, 2001.
Viola was very active in the Quincy community! She was a member of the Martha K Majors Women’s Club, CARE (Citizens Advocating Racial Equality), Quincy Housing Neighborhood Watch, on the board of Jackson Lincoln Pool, and Student Advocate for Quincy Public Schools and lifelong member of Green Chapel Baptist Church. She loved the Lord.

She leaves behind cherished memories to her children Trina Eston of Quincy, Ill., Tyra Majors, Tessie Lofton (Marlon), Floyd Majors Jr.(Alecia) and Tiffany Majors all of Atlanta, Ga. Three brothers Edward Weathers of LaGrange, Mo, Roger (Cheri) of Dumfries, Va., and Cecil Weathers of Quincy, Ill., and a sister Elizabeth (Nathan) James of Rock Island, Ill.

Viola is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers Donald (Wilma) Weathers, Everette Weathers, Keith (Terri) Weathers.

She also leaves to cherish her memory six grandchildren LaTalia Smith, Terrell Bell, Markele Lofton, Markus Lofton, Bradley Eston and Caleb Majors and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held October 11, 2021. at The Crossing, 48th and Maine Street, Quincy, Ill., with Rev. Jeff Green officiating. Pallbearers: James Dade Jr, Richard Douglas, Dennis Douglas, Roderick Rudd, Ronnie Robinson and Dennis Williams. Honorary Pallbearers: Finley Lewis Jr., Randy Holder and Brian Lewis. Visitation was held October 10, 2021 at Green Chapel Baptist Church in La Grange.

Burial was in Mark’s Cemetery in La Grange.
