EVA ‘ELLEN’ PARRISH

Eva “Ellen” Parrish, 81, of Quincy, Ill., died January 19, 2022, at Good Samaritan Home in Quincy.

Ellen was born June 19, 1940, in Quincy, Ill., to Louie Franklin and Ora Ellen (White) Sisk.

She was married to Lindsey L. Parrish on December 22, 1956, in LaBelle, Mo. He survives.

In addition to her husband, other survivors include her six children, Randy (Becky) Parrish of Charleston, SC, Rick (Nancy) Parrish of Quincy, Ill., Brenda (Daryl) Zessin of Quincy, Ill., Linda (Alan) Dunn of Dallas, Tx., Greg (Howard) Parrish of Hilo, HI, and Todd (Kate) Parrish of Winter Park, Fla.; three sisters, Katherine “Katie” (Bill) Summers of Jefferson City, Mo., Edna Rhoads of Sherman, Tx., and Caron Smith of Vero Beach, Fla.; thirteen grandchildren; and many great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Ellen was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Robert Sisk; three sisters, Mary Bradley, Doris Morath, and Jeanette Baker; and one niece, Dianna Martin.

Ellen was first employed by Motorola for twenty years, then Electric Wheel and Ethicon (Johnson and Johnson) and Hobby Lobby until her retirement.

Ellen was a woman with endless creativity. Ellen loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She will be missed by everyone she knew and will be remembered for her humor, wit, and sweet smile.

Funeral services were held January 24, 2022, at the O’Donnell-Cookson Life Celebration Home in Quincy. Pastor Jason Sommerfeldt officiated. Pallbearers: Daryl Zessin, Lucas Stice, Clint Daniels, Michael Orton, and Tim Parrish.
Burial was at Greenmount Cemetery in Quincy.
