PATRICIA COTTRELL

March 22, 2022

Mrs. Patricia Ann “Pat” Cottrell, 83, of LaGrange, Mo., died March 20, 2022 at Bradford Villa in Quincy, Ill.

She was born April 28, 1938 in Hunnewell, Mo., a daughter of Charlie Russell and Viola Barnett Yager. She married Bert Richard Cottrell on January 11, 1959 in LaGrange, Mo. He passed away December 5, 2020.

Pat was a member of the La Grange Christian Church. In addition to her “favorite job” of being a mother and “grandma,” she was employed at Motorola, American Safety and Culver-Stockton College. Her personality and joking nature was known by many, through her waitress years at Pete’s Boat House, Hazel’s Cafe and Monticello Café. She always had a “joke” to go along with her smile. She served the community as a Boy Scout Troop leader. Pat’s greatest love was being surrounded by family, friends and laughter. “Momma Pat’s” house was always open to all.
Survivors include daughter, Tammy (Brad) Neil of Palmyra, Mo.; son, Kevin (LaVonne) Cottrell of Ewing, Mo., and daughter, Pamela (Randy) Shubert of Camdenton, Mo.; three granddaughters, Jessica Lasater and fiancé Kain Royer of Wentzville, Mo., Cassandra Cottrell of Austin, Tx., and Teddie (Tyler) Mays of Palmyra, Mo.; six grandsons, Brady Neil and Braxden Neil of Palmyra, Mo., Brayden Neil of Camdenton, Mo., Nathan (Joni) Bennett of Kirksville, Mo., Matt (Ashlynn) Bennett of Ewing, Mo., and Caleb Shubert (Ashley Lambert) of Edina, Mo.; two great grandsons, Chase Lasater of Wentzville, Mo., and Tristan Bennett of Kirksville, Mo.; and a great granddaughter, Aria Bennett of Ewing, Mo.

She is also survived by brother-in-law, Roger Cottrell of LaGrange, Mo., plus several nieces and nephews that were very dear and special to her.

She was preceded in death by her spouse of 61 years, who always called her “Babe,” her parents, siblings Mary Jane Raleigh and Charlie Russell Yager, and sister-in-law Nancy Cottrell. The family acknowledges the love and care provided by Sudaka Schreck and her new friends at Bradford Villa.
