Yesteryear - Tolona School

The public school in Tolona, as it looked around 1900. The design of the building with a belfry and side windows followed a pattern that was almost universal for rural schools and usually painted white with some type of shutters on the windows. They were also used as community centers for small towns with events such as pie suppers and various holiday celebrations.
A healthy Lewis County requires great community news.
