Library Guest Artists - Reception Feb. 9

February 01, 2023

The Canton Public Library is proud to display the works of Canton R-V Middle and High School Art Students during the month of February. Students will exhibit a wide range of mediums including drawings, paintings (watercolors and acrylics) scratchboard, colored pencils and mixed media. Under the instruction of Canton R-V art teacher Brittany Welker, students study a variety of subject matters including landscapes, still life, animals, figure drawing, and abstract work, and create both two-dimensional and three-dimensional art. Each piece is unique to the artist and reflects the emotion or point of view they have about topics of life, society, and themselves.

All are invited to meet the students at an opening reception at the library on Thursday, February 9 from 5:30-7:00 PM. The event is hosted by the Canton Area Arts Council and the Canton Public Library. Refreshments will be served. The art work will be on display throughout the month of February.

The library invites local artists of all ages to apply to become a Guest Artist.
