The Culver-Stockton College men’s and women’s track teams competed at the Heart of America Athletic Conference Indoor Championships on February 17-18 at Northwest State University in Maryville.
For the Culver women’s team, Dani Morgan finished eighth in the shot put. Payton Flowers placed ninth in the pole vault.
On the men’s side, the 4x400 relay team of Anthony Havens, Jr., Drew Mallett, Sean Cleary, and Verlyn Johnson finished in second place and set a school record with a time of 3:18.96. Running this time qualified them to compete at the NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championships in Brookings, South Dakota March 2-4.
Also on the Culver men’s team, Verlyn Johnson finished eight in the 200-meter dash. Reid Savage placed fourteenth overall in the 60-meter hurdles. Leo Coradi also finished fourteenth in the triple jump. Devonte Jordan placed fourteenth in the shot put.
