Art Show at Mabee Gallery

February 22, 2023

The Culver-Stockton Mabee Gallery is honored to present the multimedia installation work of Professor Danielle Yakle. This exhibition will open on March 2 at 6:00pm, with an artist talk at 6:30. This opening is free and open to the public and is also an ACE event for students. The gallery is open from 9:00am - 4:00pm, Monday through Friday and by appointment.

Professor Yackle uses wood, found furniture, burlap, polyurethane foam, air-dry clay, epoxy clay, acrylic paint, wax, and found objects. She presents familiar objects in unfamiliar ways to explore the difficulty of fitting within established social conventions. Her work focuses on themes of the home, aging, and hybridity. Professor Yakle currently teaches at Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri, where she heads the Sculpture and Fiber Arts areas.

Her teaching interests center around the ability of art to celebrate and strengthen communities and her liberal arts classes frequently include building public art projects and staging children’s workshops.
