Canton Public Library Welcomes Guest Artist Brenda Beck Fisher

The Canton Public Library welcomes Hannibal resident, Brenda Beck Fisher as Guest Artist for the month of March. A reception in her honor will be held on Thursday, March 9th from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at the Canton Public Library. The event is hosted by the Canton Fine Arts Council and Brenda will be present to discuss her artwork and answer questions. Refreshments will be provided.

Brenda Beck Fisher has lived in Missouri most of her life and has been a full-time artist since 2001. The recipient of many local and national awards, she is a signature member of the Missouri Watercolor Society, Southern Watercolor Society, Watercolor Society of Alabama, Red River Watercolor Society and a juried member of Best of Missouri Hands. Her work has been featured many times on the Hannibal annual Historic Folklife Festival poster, a West Winery wine label, and Southgate’s chili can. Her painting, “Opaque Glass, Transparent Watercolor” was featured on a highway billboard in the first annual billboard contest sponsored by the Hannibal Arts Council.

In 2016, Brenda was commissioned to illustrate over 35 watercolors for display in the newly remodeled Becky Thatcher Museum in Hannibal, Missouri. Brenda’s artwork can also be viewed online at www.brenda beckfisher.com
