MARILYN (BAILEY) RALEIGH

Marilyn Faye (Bailey) Raleigh, 77, of Ewing, Mo., died March 15, 2023 at her home surrounded by family.

She was born Aug. 22, 1945, in Bucklin, Mo., to Quentin and Geneva Bailey.

She was a graduate of Bucklin High School and a proud member of the Class of 1963, remaining lifelong friends with many of its members. She worked for the majority of her career in quality control in the automotive industry. She also worked in retirement at Cougar Den Daycare, where she enjoyed working with children.

She married Fred Raleigh on May 30, 1995, and loved his family as her own.

Marilyn enjoyed singing and dancing, particularly to country and old time rock and roll music. She was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ewing and very active in her faith.

Above all, she enjoyed spending time with friends and family.

She is survived by her husband Fred Raleigh, of the home; son, Rob Bailey (Margaret) of Yankton, S.D.; Kristi Rasmussen (Paul) of Savannah, Mo.,; stepson Victor Raleigh (Carrie) of Ewing, Mo.; stepdaughter Anita Melvin (Scott) of Quincy, Ill.; granddaughter Katarina Rasmussen; stepgrandchildren Jessica Bliven (Tony), Jackie Bruns (Nate), Presley Dean (Theo), Bronson Melvin (Ashley); eight great grandchildren, with one more on the way; brother Sam Bailey, of Marceline, Mo.; sister Roberta Hubler, of Marceline, Mo., sister Kathy (Brian) Gardner, of Bucklin, Mo.; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Robert Bailey, Ron Bailey, Roger Bailey, Kay Truninger, Carla Myers, Connie Bailey and former spouse, Don Bailey, father of her children.

Family received friends March 18, at Ball Davis Funeral Home in Ewing, Mo. A rosary service was held. A Mass of Christian Burial was held March 19, 2023 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ewing, Mo., with Fr. Callistus Okoroji officiating.

Burial was in Queen of Peace Cemetery, Ewing, MO.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to Queen of Peace Catholic Church.
