Promoting Agriculture C-1 FFA

Lewis County C-1 FFA Chapter recently partnered with Lewis County Farm Bureau to promote Agriculture in the schools. FFA members held a grocery guess for students and staff at Highland High School to bring attention to the fact that American consumers use less of their disposable income on grocery costs than other countries. Participants were encouraged to guess the cost of a selection of groceries. Layton Lay won the contest by guessing $85.62, the actual cost was $85.54. The prize was the groceries. FFA members also went to Highland Elementary to read to students in kindergarten through second grade. They left each student with a packet containing farm coloring and activity sheets, pencils, stickers, and a book.
