STANTON GRAGG

Stanton Neal Gragg died March 19, 2023 at his home in Lone Jack, Mo. He was born June 26, 1962, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill., to Dr. Victor and Norma “Cox” Gragg. The family lived in LaGrange, Mo., as his father was superintendent of LaGrange and Lewis County C-1 Schools until 1970.

Stanton graduated from Fort Osage High School with honors in 1980. He began a career in engineering that spanned over 40 years. In 2021, he retired from Henderson Engineers, Inc in Lenexa, Kan.

Stanton was married to his life-long partner and best friend, Robyn (Revelle), for 37 years. They raised two daughters: Jessica (Dustin) Rodriguez of Cleveland, OH, and Hannah Gragg of Overland Park, KS. He was particularly proud of enabling Robyn’s love of quilting.

Other relatives include two aunts, Marilyn Hoffman and Judy Gragg, cousins John Hoffman, Debra Schoenfelt, Peggy Cottrell Steinbeck, Ted Cottrell and Maria Baker.

At an early age, Stanton felt the call of God on his life into active ministry. After leading the children’s choir as a young adult, he went on to teach Sunday School for 22 years. In 1997, he was ordained into the Gospel ministry and shortly afterward helped establish a new church plant: Heritage Baptist Church. He led from the pulpit for 17 years.

Farmall tractors were a big part of Stanton’s life. In 2009, he acquired his first tractor - a 1947 Cub he affectionately named “Nellie.” Soon after, he connected with others by joining the Chapter 1 International Harvesters Collector Club. also served as a moderator for FarmallCub.com, where he created helpful how-to videos and built relationships with fellow tractor enthusiasts. He contributed numerous articles for Red Power Magazine,.

Stanton enjoyed being outdoors, maintaining a garden, memorable nighttime fishing trips with friends.

With guidance from family friend Phil Rice, an agent at the Missouri Department of Conservation, he learned how to turkey hunt, it became an annual tradition that continued through the years.

Stanton was always ready for an adventure, enjoyed traveling and new experiences.

Stan was always thinking of others. He truly touched so many hearts and many lives were changed because of his selfless love for Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Steven Gragg.

Funeral services were held March 23, 2023 at Summit Woods Baptist Church, Lee’s Summit, Mo. Pallbearers included John Hoffman, Jeff and James Gragg and Doug Tiemann.

Interment was in Lone Jack Cemetery, Lone Jack, Mo.
