General Municipal Election is April 4

The General Municipal Election will be held April 4, 2023. Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The City of Canton election includes incumbent Mayor Jarrod Phillips running unopposed, Aldermen for Ward 1 candidates are Teresa L. McKenzie, Jacob Moffitt and Robin Bracey; Running unopposed for Ward 2 is George Hausdorf and Sharon Kay Upchurch in Ward 3.

City of Ewing candidates are all unopposed with Dean Wagy, Mayor; Alan Toliver Ward 1; Clifford Wade Ward 2 and no one signed up for the other Ward 2 position. City of LaBelle Zachary Sharpe is unopposed for Mayor; Ottie Lewis unopposed for Collector; Linda Goodson and Roy Lewis, Sr. for North Ward, Dee Raleigh and Sindey Doscher South Ward two year term, and Sam G. Wilson, South Ward, one year term.

Lewis County residents will vote on a sales tax that reads: Shall Lewis County Missouri impose a county wide sales tax of three percent (3%) on all tangible personal property retail sales of adult use marijuana sold in Lewis County?

No election for offices will be held if the number of candidates who have filed for a particular office is equal to the number of positions in that office to be filled by the election and a list of those candidates and the offices is listed on the ballot info on page A6.

Polling places are the Immanuel Methodist Church for Canton Rural and Wards 1, 2 and 3. LaGrange City Hall for LaGrange and Union Township. Ewing R-4 Fire Station for Ewing and Durham. Lewistown Fire Station for Lewistown, Steffenville and Salem Township. LaBelle Fire Station for LaBelle and Monticello Courthouse for Monticello, Lyon Township and Reddish Townships.
