New Bridge Opens

The Lewis County Commission opened a new concrete 120- foot long x 24.50 feet wide, single span bridge on County Road 585, located north of Maywood, Mo.

This bridge, also known as the Bartz Bridge, replaces a closed bridge that failed due to a large flood event, resulting in heavy erosion around the abutments.

The bridge was built by Bleigh Construction Company from Hannibal, Mo. The engineer on this project was Howe Company, LLC from Macon, Mo.
