Andrea L. Owsley, 76, of Canton, Mo., formerly of Hannibal, Mo., died April 18, 2023 in the Lewis County Nursing Home at Canton.

She was born February 21, 1947 in Quincy, Ill., a daughter of Paul A. Vaughn and Betty F. Stephens. She married Stephen G. Owsley in LaGrange, Mo., on May 25, 1963. He survives.

Andrea graduated from LaGrange High School in 1965 and then attended Culver-Stockton College in Canton graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. She furthered her education at Kirksville Teachers College in Kirksville earning her Masters Degree. She taught at LaGrange Elementary School for several years and later as a substitute teacher in the Hannibal School District.

She loved to quilt, sew, scrapbook and was an avid reader. Andrea loved to play golf, travel the world including trips to Thailand and Ireland, and took many trips to Disney World with the grandkids. She was a devoted mother and caretaker of her daughter Niki. She was of the Protestant faith and raised as a Baptist.

Survivors include her husband Steve of Canton; three daughters, Stephanie (Steve) Phillips of Canton, Tina Birck of Canton and Nicole Owsley of Palmyra; five grandchildren, Kelsey Owsley of Little Rock, AR, Chase Phillips of Hannibal, Mo.,, Allison Phillips of St. Louis, Mo., Carson Birck and Kegan Birck both of Canton; one brother, Allen (Benita) Vaughn of St. Charles, Mo.; Aunt, Jeanie (Jim) Genenbacher of Quincy, Ill., Uncle Dick Vaughn of Columbia, Mo.; sisters in law, Kathy (Lanse) Tomlinson of Quincy and Linda Vaughn of Willmington, N.C., and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Anthony Vaughn, her mother and father in law Wayne and Mary Anna Owsley and several Aunts and Uncles.

Private graveside services and burial will be held in Forest Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers: Chase Phillips, Carson Birck, Kegan Birck, Logan Berens, Tyler Tomlinson and Tom Frese. Honorary Pallbearers: Steve Phillips, Trey Tomlinson, Spencer Vaughn and Matt Hamann

The family suggests memorials be made to Sutter Home in Palmyra, Mo., where her daughter Nicole resides in care of Davis Funeral Home, P.O. Box 108, Canton, MO 63435.
