National History Day

Highland 8th graders participated in the National History Day in Missouri contest.  National History Day in Missouri, launched in 1980, is the state affiliate of National History Day. Students conducted extensive research on a historical subject they chose and presented findings by creating documentaries, exhibits, papers, performances, or websites, all while meeting Missouri Learning Standards.  Regional judges came to Highland High School to judge projects and choose projects that met the requirements to move on to the state level.  

Highland High School sent nine students to the University of Missouri-Columbia to compete at the state level.  

All National History Day projects will be on display at Highland High School Humanities Night, May 5.
