Free Child Eye Screening Offered

The Lewis County Health Department will have FREE Vision Screenings from KidSight on Monday August 7, 2023 from 9 am to 11 am. Screening includes Nearsightedness – cannot see far away; Farsightedness – cannot see close up; Astigmatism – cannot see far away or close up; Amblyopia – “lazy eye” ; Anisometropia – one eye sees clearly and one is blurred; Anisocoria – pupils are unequa; and l Misalignment – eye turning in or out.

This is available for any child. For questions, call the Lewis County Health Department at 573-767-5312. No appointment is required.

KidSight is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides free vision screenings for children. The program was founded in St. Louis, Missouri in 1995 with a handful of volunteers screening a few hundred children a year. Today, KidSight’s program has grown to screen the vision of more than 45,000 kids throughout Missouri each year with the help of trained staff and volunteers operating across the state. 

Lions Club International is a sponsor and a partner. The LaGrange Lions Club and the Bowling Green Lions Club are volunteering at the event.
