DENNIS J DANFORTH
Dennis J. Danforth, 72 of rural Maywood, Missouri passed away Saturday, August 5, 2023 after battling with ALS at Hannibal Regional Hospital at Hannibal, Missouri.
The son of Joseph and Velma Mae Coons Danforth was born on May 9, 1951 at Keokuk, Iowa.
He was united in marriage to Lori A. Derhake on September 5, 1992 at Las Vegas, Nevada.
Dennis liked to be outdoors, camping, fishing, hunting and gardening. He also liked to do woodworking and watching Cardinals baseball. He enjoyed going to school reunions and family get togethers.
He is survived by his wife Lori Danforth of rural Maywood, Mo.; four children, Darcy (Craig) Buckwalter of Canton, Mo., Derek Danforth of Lewistown, Mo., Katie Danforth of Warrensburg, Mo. and Kellie Danforth of Maywood, Mo.; six grandchildren, Lexi Danforth, Kaylin Buckwalter, Dylan Danforth, Bradlee Danforth, Nora Buckwalter and Boyd Buckwalter; two sisters, Joyce Lasswell of Salem, Ia. and Janet Lillard of Sedalia, Mo.; brothers and sisters in law, David (Nancy) Derhake of Naperville, Ill., Dan (Vickie) Derhake of Quincy, Ill., John (Jane) Derhake of Quincy, Ill. and Jerry (Twila) Derhake of Quincy, Ill.; and several nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Ronald Boecker, two brother in laws, David Lillard and Bob Lasswell, and a sister and brother-in-law, Ellen and Marvin Yancey.
A celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 12, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Arnold’s Funeral Home in Canton, Mo. with Rev. Mandy Gosik officiating.
Visitation will be held from 12 noon until the time of services at Arnold’s Funeral Home in Canton.
Memorials may be made to the family to assist with final expenses.
