DYAS ROBERTS

Dyas O. Roberts, 69 of Quincy, Ill., died August 9, 2023 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois.
he son of Jesse and Mildred Hurst Roberts was born on May 2, 1954 at Quincy, Illinois. He graduated from Highland High School in 1972. He grew up in Ewing, Mo. Dyas married Kathy Harrell in 1981 in Quincy, Ill.
Dyas had a great love for classic cars. He sold classic cars overseas to Sweden and England. Dyas and Kathy Roberts owned and operated Roberts Auto Sales in La Grange, Mo. Later owned Roberts Motors in La Grange, Mo. He drove a semi for a few years. He also worked at Gem City Pizzeria in Quincy, Ill., from 1973 until he retired. He owned his own trash hauling business in Quincy called Roberts Hauling. He was employed at Wilson Supply in Oklahoma during the 1980’s, delivering parts to oil fields.
He enjoyed being a businessman selling cars, he had a passion for cars. He was a very sociable person and loved to talk. He never knew a stranger. He also enjoyed nature, walks at Wakonda State Park and beekeeping. He enjoyed and adored his grandchildren.
He is survived by his daughter, Brandi Roberts, LaGrange, Mo.; son, Shaun (Melissa) Roberts, Wheeling, W.V.; two grandchildren, Olivia Pruett and Lincoln Roberts; sisters, Teresa (Paul) Smith, Greenfield, Ill., and Noreen Roberts, Lewistown, Mo.; a brother, Jesse (Martha) Roberts, Ewing, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services were held August 15, 2023 at Arnold’s Funeral Home in Canton, Mo. Father Tom Meyer officiated. Pallbearers: Shaun Roberts, Alex Frieden, Todd Frieden, Michael Roberts, Matthew Roberts, Greg Westhoff,
Burial was in Durham Cemetery at Durham, Missouri.
