Nichols Celebrating 70 Years of Marriage

Mr. and Mrs. Leo Nichols, Jr., of Canton, Mo., are celebrating 70 years of marriage.

Mr. Nichols and the former Catherine Maxine Uhlmeyer were married September 5, 1953, in the Shrine of St. Patrick, St. Patrick, Mo. Mrs. Nichols is the daughter of the late Walter and Rosaline Uhlmeyer. Mr. Nichols is the son the late Leo and Helen Nichols.

They are the parents of Carol Huston, Margie Lynn, Juli Clark, Lori Winters, John Nichols and Jeanne Leighty. They are also the parents of five deceased sons, Stephen, Michael, Kevin, Ronald and Patrick Nichols.

Mr. Nichols retired from Gardner-Denver, LaGrange, in 1992, after 32 years of employment, and Mrs. Nichols retired from the U.S. Post Office, Canton, in 1996. They are members of the Shrine of St. Patrick, St. Patrick, Mo.
