JOYCE SUTER

Joyce Suter, 82, of Palmyra, Mo., died October 1, 2023, at Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Palmyra, Mo.

Joyce was born April 29, 1941, in Bourbon, Mo., to William (Bill) L. and Nell Linstromberg Breuer. She was married to Johnny E. Suter on October 9, 1959, in LaGrange, Mo.

Survivors include her husband of 63 years Johnny Suter, children Joey Suter (Kara), Washington, Mo., Jerry Suter, Hendersonville, Tenn.; Jay Suter (Paula), O’Fallon, Mo., and sister Joan Wiesemann, Palmyra, Mo.; grandchildren Nick Suter (fiancée Katie Baker), Jake Suter, Leah Kane (Alex), Dylan Suter, Evelyn Shaw (Morgan), Ethan Suter, Adrienne Suter, Ava Suter, Adam Suter, and Ella Suter; Great-grandchildren Eli Kane and Ellie Kane, nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, and brother in-law Lewis Wiesemann.

She lived as a model for every Christian. She was a member of the Hannibal Church of Christ. Joyce worked in accounting at Palmyra State Bank (Homebank) and retiring as Assistant Vice President. She was a doting wife to Johnny and wonderful adoring mother to her boys. As a mother of all boys, she was especially sweet to her daughter’s in-law! Joyce supported the St. Louis Cardinals and her hometown team, the Panthers. Her enthusiasm for sports grew from her own basketball playing days for LaGrange High School where she once scored 41 points in a game. Joyce and Johnny were very close to her sister Joan and her husband Lewis (Louie)

Graveside services were held October 7, 2023, at Greenwood Cemetery in Palmyra, Mo. David Wiesemann officiated.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Hannibal Church of Christ.
