ATF Reward Offered in Church Fire

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, in conjunction with the Missouri Division of Fire Safety and the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office, is offering a reward up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the fire at the Providence Baptist Church and parsonage in Williamstown, Mo., according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office Facebook post.

The fire was discovered on Jan. 4, 2024 shortly after 5 a.m. When firefighters arrived on scene the church and the parsonage, which is located on the church property, were both fully engulfed in flames. Several agencies responded to the scene.

The information says that investigators are working to uncover evidence and to determine the origin and cause of the blaze. Investigators are focusing on leads are calling on member of the public for information about the fire.
