River Rats Donate Shelter

A new Shelter House is now in place at the LaGrange riverfront. Several years ago, community minded citizens and avid boaters formed the River Rat Club. The group was active for several years and had fundraisers for projects and clean up at the Mississippi River. After the group disbanded, the remaining funds were donated to the City of LaGrange for a new shelter house on the riverfront. LaGrange public works employees have finished the project. River Rat former members hope that the new shelter house will encourage people to continue to enjoy and respect the Mississippi River and the beautiful riverfront.
