BARBARA WILLIS  

Barbara Dene Willis, age 90, of Canton, Mo., went to be with her Lord on Monday, July 8, 2024 at her home in Canton.

She was born October 12, 1933 near Benjamin, MO to Elisha Ferdinand and Virginia Lucille (Gruber) Fishback.  She married Julian Ballard Willis on June 8, 1952.  He passed away August 14, 2001.

Barbara worked at Mississippi Valley Textile Company, baked pies at The Coffee Shop, cooked at Smitty’s Truck Stop, and worked at Quincy Paper Box until its closing.  She was a member of the Providence Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Virginia (Dale) Stice and her son, Julian Dennis (Diane) Willis; one sister, Rebecca Ann George; grandchildren, Bethany (Cal) Callison, Nathan (Kara) Stice, Jared Stice, Tami (John Jr.) Friedhoff, Cindy (Jon) Wietholder, Paul (Angie) Blanton, Denise (Steven) Spears; 16 great grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and grandson, John Wottman.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, July 12, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at the Davis Funeral Home in Canton, Mo., with Rev. Cal Callison officiating. Visitation will be held Friday, July 12, 2024 from noon until time of services at the Davis Funeral Home in Canton. Pallbearers: Rick Martin, Tami Friedhoff, Jared Stice, Nathan Stice, Lucas Schieferdecker and Javan Callison.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Kenan Callison and Asher Callison.

Burial will be in Forest Grove Cemetery in Canton.  

The family suggests memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
