Mabee Art Gallery Features Andy Brown

Culver-Stockton College announced that its first exhibit of the 2024 fall semester will be ‘Shared Spaces’ by artist Andy Brown. This show located within the C-SC Mabee Art Gallery, will highlight the work of Brown who is teaching painting and drawing at Centre College in Danville, Kentucky. The gallery opening is set for September 5 and closes October 14 with the artist’s talk at 6:30pm on the closing day. Gallery shows are free and open to the public with gallery hours being 9am–4pm Monday through Friday. 
Brown grew up in Baltimore, Maryland, the son of educators. In 2005, he completed his BA with honors in painting at Towson University. After completing his degree, He moved to Shanghai, China for the next four years, working as an English instructor at several different universities and schools. Upon acceptance to Louisiana State University for graduate school, he returned to the United States. He completed his MFA in painting and drawing during the spring of 2013, receiving the Dean’s Medal for academic excellence. For the next six years, he worked as a full-time instructor and graduate faculty member at Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton. During the pandemic, he took a break from academia and spent two years living and working in Tokyo, Japan. Brown has exhibited nationally and internationally in group exhibitions, with numerous solo shows around the US, Europe, and Japan.
