ERIC DOTY

Eric Carl Doty, 59, of Canton, Mo., died September 5, 2024, at Blessing Hospital. He was born May 19, 1965, at Keokuk, Ia., son of Herb C. and Willa L (Gardner) Doty. 
On April 18, 1987, he married Kimberly B (Beaty) Doty in Senoia, Ga.
.Eric was a 1983 graduate of Revere High school angraduated as salutatorian of his class. He then furthered his education and graduated from Northeast Missouri State University in 1992, with a degree in Industrial Science. He worked several jobs and retired from FedEx, as an Operational Manager, he enjoyed his job and the friendships he made with his co-workers. Eric was a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan. A highlight for Eric was being able to attend several of their games with his son Asher and brother Gary. Eric was blessed with a beautiful voice and loved to sing. He enjoyed cooking and never missed a meal. Eric was a family man and loved to share special times with them all. His greatest joy was his grandchildren, who called him Papa Suga.
Eric is survived by his wife Kim, his mother; Willa Doty of Kahoka, Mo.,  daughter; Heather (John Mickley) Doty of Senoia, Ga.,  sons: Asher (Kiley) Doty of Pensacola, Fla., Joseph Doty of Canton, Mo., grandchildren; Greyson Waterman, Elaina Doty, Jackson Doty, three brothers: Gary Doty, of Burlington Ia., Mike (Lisa) Doty of Kahoka, Mo., Shawn (Terry) Doty of Wayland, Mo., sister-in-law; Tamara Doty of Ia., as well as other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Herb Doty, a son, Brandon Doty, and a brother, Rob Doty.
According to his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. Memorial services were held September 7, 2024, at Wilson and Triplett Funeral Home in Kahoka, Mo.  Pastor Shawn McAfee officiated. Memorial contributions can be made to the family.
