Canton FFA Trap Shooting Team Ends Season

The Canton FFA Trap shooting team finished their season on September 28 with a 7th place finish at Districts with a score of 440/500. Gage Cale, Drew Gottman, and Connor Welker each scored a 25 straight. The team competed at various locations throughout the season. The season started with a double header with the first held in Memphis at Lake Show-Me on September 7th. Next the team traveled to Boscos in Lancaster for the Schuyler Co trap shoot. Gage Cale and Drew Logsdon both scored a 25 straight. On September 14 the Canton FFA competed in a yearly tradition of facing off against Lewis County C-1 to compete head to head on their Home practice range. This year Lewis County hosted the event and all teams competed at the Twelve Point Gun Club. All scores are averaged together and Lewis County C-1 was declared the Champions. The teams finished out their regular season on September 21st competing at Boscos. The Area III trap shoot was held at Boscos in Lancaster. Gage Cale and Connor Welker each had a 25 straight at Area with a final score of 48/50. The team placed 7th overall and qualified for Districts with Gage Cale, Connor Welker, Drew Gottman, Drew Logsdon, and Gatlyn Job. Gage Cale will be recognized at the Chapter Banquet this spring for High Individual shooter. Austin Weaver will be recognized for Most Improved. The chapter and team will miss the 2 graduating seniors from the team: Wyatt Anderson and Carter Cale. Thank you to all the supporters throughout this trap shooting season. The team receives financial support from the Eagles, money is collected as Tips during the Gun Auctions and Canton FFA Alumni, money is raised through the Alumni Auction held the first Saturday in March 1, 2025.
