Melvin Paul Grgurich, Jr., 74 of rural LaGrange, Missouri passed away Monday, October 14, 2024 at his home in rural LaGrange. The son of Melvin P. and Loetta Minnix Grgurich was born on February 18, 1950 in Kirksville, Missouri. He was united in marriage to Cathy Jo Bronestine on July 8, 2006 in Monticello, Missouri.
Melvin was of the Christian faith. He had worked at the Milan Gravel Pit, was a school custodian, a county road grader and at Premium Standard Farms, building roads. He ran a bulldozer with his dad and fixed chainsaws, mowers and tractors. He liked polka music and Michelob Ultra and loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Cathy Grgurich of Monticello, Mo., children, Jason (Paige) Legg of Lewistown, Mo., Aimee (Mark) DeClue of Ewing, Mo. and Jessie (Harley) Daugherty of LaGrange, Mo.; grandchildren, Tell Legg, Emily Legg, Lane Nelson, Karlie DeClue, Casey DeClue, Colton Daugherty and Logan Daugherty; a great granddaughter, Zalaya Washington; siblings, Anna Stewart of Monticello, Mo., Cathy (Richard) Hudnut of Canton, Mo., Mary Smith of Hallsville, Mo., Debbie Grgurich of Paris, Mo., David (Cheryl) Grgurich of Marietta, Okla., and Tim (Cindy) Grgurich of Monticello, Mo.; mother-in -law, Bonnie Bronestine of Ewing, Mo.; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 21, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Arnold’s Funeral Home in Canton, Missouri with Rev. Wes Friday officiating.  
Visitation will be held Sunday October 20, 2024 from 4 until 8 p.m. at Arnold’s Funeral Home in Canton. 
Music: “Amazing Grace” and “Homesick” by Mark DeClue and Karlie DeClue. Pallbearers: Emily Legg, Karlie DeClue, Lane Nelson, Casey DeClue, Colton Daugherty, Logan Daugherty and Tell Legg. Honorary Pallbearers: Bill Runquist, Randy Bronestine, Kevin Meyer, Jeremy Brumbaugh, Aaron Lay, Stacey Meyer and Lonnie Meyer.
Burial will be in the East Midway Cemetery in rural LaGrange, Missouri.
Memorials may be made to Arnold’s Funeral Home to assist the family with final expenses.
