Youth Deer Hunt Contest

The Durham Community Center will host a 2024 Youth Hunt, Deer Season Contest. Nov. 1 is pre-registration at the community center from 6 to 9 p.m. A soup supper will be served and gift bags for the children will be given away while supplies last. Nov. 2 is a Hunter Brunch, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and weigh-ins throughout the day. Nov. 3 from 3 to 8 p.m. will be a hunter supper and final weigh in at 7:30 p.m. with winners announced at 8 p.m. Prize of a European mount ( or money off a shoulder mount) will be given for most impressive buck, sponsored by Lost and Found Taxidermy. Prizes sponsored by Whitetails Unlimited Show ME Chapter for the Heaviest Buck, heaviest doe and lightest deer. Free registration. Full rules available at the pre-registrtion event. Must e registered by Nov. 1 at 10 p.m. to be eligible for contests. Door prizes and participation gifts will be given away at each event. If a child would like to hunt but does not have the means to participate, a local landowner will make sure the child has everything they need. Parent must accompany.
