PAT RYAN

Patrick “Skeeter” Ryan of LaGrange, Mo., passed away November 1, 2024 in his home with his beloved wife, Brenda (Wolter) Ryan at his side, after a three-year battle with cancer.  
Pat was born in Quincy, IL, February 12, 1952 to his parents Ollie Ryan and Norma Lee Doscher McElroy (stepfather Samuel McElroy).  
Pat was raised on the family farm in Missouri and graduated from Marion County School R-2 in Philadelphia, Mo.  He earned his CDL from John Wood Community College in 2003.  He worked at Celotex Paper Mill in Quincy, IL for 32 years; General Mills in Hannibal, Mo., for 15 years; and retired in 2018.  Pat can be known for being the Jack of All Trades and seeing to it that all was done right.  He would help any friend and neighbor who was in need.  He volunteered for Quincy Herald-Whig Good News Campaign; Palmyra Recycling in Palmyra, MO; and was a member of the Northside Boat Club of Quincy, and served on the board.  
His many hobbies included trap shooting at the boat club, golf, hunting, fishing, motorcycles, gardening, canning, and cooking.  He took pleasure in coming up with his own unique recipes.  He owned and operated a single-engine plane for personal pleasure at Taylor, Mo., for many years.
In addition to his wife, Brenda, he is survived by his son, Tony Ryan and wife Toni Michelle of Eldon, Mo.; granddaughter Samantha Ryan (Shane Bell) and great-granddaughter, Harper Grace Bell all of Jefferson City, Mo.  Also surviving are his daughter, Robin (Bill) Fountain and grandchildren Thomas Fountain and Jessica Fountain all of Lewistown, Mo; son, Neil (Heather) Ryan and grandchildren Devin Ryan, Matthew Roach, Kolton Spangler, and Walker Ryan all of LaGrange, Mo.; the mother of all his children, Mrs. Vicki Alexander (Mike) both of LaGrange, Mo., also survive. His brothers Terry (Nancy) Ryan of Hunnewell, Mo., Bill (Marcia) Ryan of Muscatine, Ia., and Timothy Ryan formerly of Emden, Mo., also survive; as well as his sister-in-law, Ellen (Mike) Ryan of Philadelphia, Mo., and several nieces and nephews.  
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Mike Ryan of Philadelphia, Mo., Richard Ryan of Monroe City, Mo., and Quincy, Ill.; and nephew, Charles “Chuck” Ryan of Monroe City, Mo.
There are no services scheduled at this time.  
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Northeast Missouri; Camp Jo-Ota at Clarence, Mo.; or La Grange Lion’s Club at LaGrange, Mo. Donations of blood and platelets would be appreciated as well. Memorials may be sent to Davis Funeral Home, PO Box 108, Canton, MO 63435. 
Honorary Pallbearers will be:  Harry “Poochie” Garr of LaGrange, who worked side-by-side with Pat and Brenda on many lawn mowers for people in the community.  His neighbors that surrounded him and were like family to him are also honorary pallbearers. The staff of Hannibal Regional Clinic/Hospital of Hannibal, Mo., and the staff of Hospice of Northeast Missouri at Kirksville, Mo., are also honorary pallbearers.
