Ossie L. Handley, 75 of Canton, Missouri passed away Monday, November 11, 2024 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois.
The son of Ferrell and Jane Crawford Handley was born on November 18, 1948 in Carmi, Illinois.
He was united in marriage to Penny J. Garner on June 14, 1986 in Canton, Missouri.
Ossie served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He liked to listen to oldies rock & roll music and go to concerts. He also liked to travel and sightsee, and he lived life how he wanted.
He is survived by his wife, Penny Handley of Canton, Mo.; his children, Phillip Handley (Amanda Nelson) of Goodyear, Az., Mervyn Handley, Kevin Handley, John Handley, Sheila Handley and Shari Handley all of Jesup, Ga. and Lanelle Gallaher of Maywood, Mo.; several grandchildren; a sister, Vicki Handley of Herrin, Ill.; a brother, David (Genesia) Handley of Quincy, Il.; sister-in-law, Pam Lippincott of Canton, Mo.; and several nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Alan Lippincott.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 14, 2024 at 12:00 PM at Arnold's Funeral Home in Canton, Missouri with Rev. Darryl Herren officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Grove Cemetery at Canton.
Visitation will be held Thursday, November 14, 2024 from 10 AM until the time of services at Arnold's Funeral Home in Canton.
Memorials may be made to the Quincy Humane Society.
Pallbearers: Junior Chestnut, Bill Wall, Kory Gay, Joey Carper, William Merida and Raymond Merida.
