The Highland History Club presented their annual Veteran’s program at the Monticello Courthouse on Nov. 10.
Judge Corey Moon, who is also a veteran, was the guest speaker. Members of both Otto Bruner Post 170 and Lewis County Memorial Post 578 participated in the program. Ceremonies and breakfasts honoring veterans were also held at
Highland High School and Canton R-V School on November 11.

Mt. Olivet Baptist Church located three miles west of Ewing route 156 on a gravel road. Sunday school starts at 10 and church services begin around 10: 45 am each Sunday morning. The building was built in 1878. Betty Fifer writes frequently about the church and all the church activities in her Ewing news column. The little country church on the prairie welcomes everyone to join them.
