Canton Library December Guest Artist

The Canton Public Library welcomes Jamie Green as Guest Artist for the month of December.
All are encouraged to visit the library in December to view his art . A Guest Artist Reception will be held on Thursday, December 5 from 5:30-7:00 at the library, with a gallery talk beginning at 6:15. The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided.
Jamie Green, a Quincy native, works in watercolor, acrylic, pencil, pen and ink, and marker. He creates works of local architecture, scenery, and historical landmarks. “I like people to view my work and say ‘I remember that!’” Jamie said.
Participating in Plein Air (open air) competitions, Jamie has received numerous awards throughout Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, Indiana, and Wisconsin. Along with paintings of local flavor, Jamie has been drawing cartoons and caricatures since the 1960’s.
Jamie studied art at Culver-Stockton College. He is a founding member of Sandpiper Plein Air Painters, a member of the National Oil & Acrylic Painters Society, and The Great River Watercolor Society. “I’m always looking for ways to grow and improve my skills, including attending various classes, workshops, and learning from other artists.”
