Culver-Stockton Christmas Concert
December 10, 2024
Culver-Stockton College welcomes audiences to campus for its annual Christmas Concert on Tuesday, December 17, 2024. The traditional music concert will begin at 7 p.m. in the Alexander Campbell Auditorium of the Robert W. Brown Performing Arts Center. This concert is free and open to the public.
This concert opens with the combined Choirs (Collegiate, Concert, and Chamber) under the direction of Dr. Andrew Schroetter, director of choral activities, before shifting to the chamber choir. This choral portion of the concert focuses on the birth of Christ from Isaiah’s proclamation through the appearance of the star and also a collection of contemporary takes on well-known traditional and non-traditional Christmas carols.
Following the choirs, the Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Dr. Trent Hollinger, will perform Greensleeves and a new setting arranged for the C-SC wind ensemble of movements from the Nutcracker Suite. The concert will conclude with an audience sing- a-long featuring the Wind Ensemble and all three choirs. Audience members are encouraged to join the C-SC Music Department in a dessert reception following the concert with music provided by members of the Jazz Ensemble.
