Carolyn Sue Carper, 77, of Canton, Missouri died January 22, 2025 at the Lewis County Nursing Home in Canton.
The daughter of John and Veda Hawkins Winkler was born on May 17, 1947 in Quincy,
Illinois. She was united in marriage to Larry Joe (Butch) Carper on June 16, 1966 in Canton, Missouri.
Sue liked to travel, cook and bake. She enjoyed helping to raise her grandchildren and was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Joe “Butch” Carper I of Canton, Mo.; a son: Larry Joe (Amy) Carper II of Canton Mo.; a daughter: Bobbie Sue (Steve) Odom of Huntsville Al.; nine grandchildren: Larry Joe Carper III (Lil Joe), Joseph Magnum Carper (Danielle McIntosh), Nicholas Colt (Elizabeth) Carper, Patrick Remington Carper, Alexandra Jo Carper, Jacob Austin Carper, Joshua Alexander Carper, all of Canton, Mo. and Harleigh Marie Bass, Haley Elizabeth Odom, both of Huntsville, Al.; seven great grandchildren, Brooklyn Nichole Carper, Chloe Layne Carper, Austin Collins. Ellie Lynn Carper, Rylie Rae Carper, Mylie May Carper, Kylie Gwen Carper; a sister, Barbara Krewet of LaBelle, Mo. and a brother, John Winkler, Jr. of LaBelle, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and older sister Judith Smith.
Funeral services: Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 1 p.m. at Arnold’s Funeral Home in Canton, Missouri. Rev. Brian Stone officiating. Visitation was held at noon preceding services. Pallbearers: Larry Joe Carper III, Joseph Magnum Carper, Nicholas Colt Carper, Patrick Remington Carper, Alexandra Jo Carper and Joshua Alexander Carper. Honorary Pallbearers: Jacob Austin Carper, Brooklyn Nicole Carper, Chloe Layne Carper, Austin Collins, Ellie Lynn Carper, Rylie Rae Carper, Mylie May Carper and Kylie Gwen Carper.
Burial: Forest Grove Cemetery, Canton, Mo.
