Ewing R-4 Fire Protection District Cancels Fundraiser
January 31, 2025
Due to water damage at Ewing R-4 Fire Protection District building in Ewing, the annual breakfast usually held at the end of January has unfortunately been cancelled. A water heater in the building burst causing flooding and damage to the entire training room and kitchen. The water heater was in an elevated place so it flooded a lot of space from ceilings to floors.
Emergency equipment and gear was not damaged, so there is no interruption in emergency services. The department is working with the insurance company and volunteers are helping with the damage and clean up.
The annual breakfast is usually well attended and a major fundraiser for the department. Anyone who would like to donate can contact David Keith or mail a donation to Ewing Fire Protection District, P.O. Box 227, Ewing, Mo. 63440. David Keith said that the department hopes to have the damaged repaired and have an event at the firehouse during Ewing Park Days in August.
